* Altona Road is under construction for the next little while.

 Access to the church is only available from Kingston Road going North on Altona Road.
 
Just follow the construction cones to the driveway!
 

Remember to bring:         Library books, Quilts from the Heart, 
                                              Show and Tell project.
 
Your members

Our new location, Altona Road Community Church, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and, as part of its celebration, is holding a food drive in October to support the food bank at St. Paul's On The Hill Anglican Church in Pickering.  We'd like to help the church support this worthwhile project and, if you'd like to take part, please bring a donation of non-perishable food to our September meeting.  Any donation will be appreciated but most needed items for the food bank are:

  • Baby formula & food
  • Beans & lentils
  • Canned fruits &
  • vegetables
  • Canned fish & meat
  • Cans of soup or hearty stew
  • Dried pasta & tomato sauce
  • Macaroni & cheese
  • Peanut butter
  • Rice
  • Tetra Pak, canned or powdered milk

If you have a friend who is a member without email or web access, please pass on this information so she can also participate.  Many thanks and see you on the 28th!

  General Meetings

The meetings are held at Altona Road Community Church, 1367 Altona Road on the 4th Monday of each month, September through May, excluding December. The meeting includes Guest Speakers, block of the month, display of members' quilts and access to the Guild's library of over 500 books on quilting.  Coffee, tea and cookies are provided. Please remember to "lug-a-mug".

Membership

Membership dues are collected by May 31st each year.  Members receive a membership card which should be shown at the door for General Meetings. The card may also be used at quilt shops to receive a discount.  Guests are welcome to the  meetings for a fee of $5.00 (no guests at November and May meetings).  If you are interested in joining the Guild, please email membership@rougevalleyquiltersguild.com.

Display

Members are invited to bring in their quilts to the General Meeting and briefly tell the other members about them.

Library

The Guild offers an extensive library of books & videos, covering all aspects of quilting, to teach and inspire.  Books are available at General Meetings to all members and may be signed out to be taken home for a month at a time.
